Independent boutiques, popular stores and the serene surroundings of the waterfront define the shopping center, but the installation of the Miami Walk of Fame has provided it with a whole new means of attracting audiences.
The Miami Walk of Fame was created to honor those who have contributed to the charisma, worldwide prominence and name recognition of Miami. Stars fall into one of four categories, which are film/television, music, sports and honorary. Winners are chosen by a selection committee of industry peers and are honored with an induction ceremony and a star designed by Miami-based artist Romero Britto. All of the winners have contributed to the appeal and prominence of Miami, which includes individuals like Kevin Hart, films like Rio 2, and entire teams like the MLB 2017 All-Stars.
Totally free and open to the public, the Miami Walk of Fame allows visitors to newly experience the people and culture that have further showcased the city to a worldwide audience.
